The Sun Ring Battle is fought between Ryohei Sasagawa and Lussuria. It is the first battle of the Ring Tournament and is fought outside of Namimori Middle School in a specially constructed ring. Yamamoto suggests that the group forms a circle, and Ryohei obliges. Saying that his extreme energy is overflowing, he takes to the sun arena.
Sun Ring Battle Timeline
Episode 41
- Sun Ring Battle begins.
- The sun arena blinds Ryohei.
- Lussuria's metal plate is revealed, effectively blocking Ryohei's left punch, and making that fist unusable.
Episode 42
- Colonello arrives.
- Ryohei's first Maximum Cannon both hits Lussuria and blows out a few floodlights. He continues and ends up destroying all of them by throwing the salt off of his body upwards rapidly.
- Lussuria succeeds in using pressure to blow Ryohei's salt in the same manner that, as he says, only the original Sun Guardian could.
- Colonello reveals that Ryohei's Maximum Cannon's cell transfer rate isn't at it's highest yet.
- Ryohei's second Maximum Cannon fails when it connects with Lussuria's metal plate, causing energy to sputter out.
- Kyoko, Hana, and I-Pin arrive at the Sun Ring Battle at the same time that Iemitsu and Basil do.
- Ryohei, remembering his promise to Kyoko, stands again to fight. With Kyoko there, his Cell Transfer rate raises to 100%
- Ryohei's final Maximum Cannon wins him the Sun Ring Battle by destroying Lussuria's metal plate.
