Mochida's first appearance
Character Outline
Mochida is the captain of the Kendo Club, and appears to have a chauvinistic attitude towards women. In the future(manga only) he is mentioned by Adult Yamamoto as being a connection of the Vongolas'.
Plot Overview
Daily Life Arc
Mochida first appears with Kyoko Sasagawa, s Tsuna is in Dying Will mode, he is easily knocked aside. Mochida witnesses Tsuna propose to Kyoko, and after she flees, he attacks him and chases after her.
Later on, it is revealed that Mochida told the entire school what happened when Tsuna asked Kyoko to be his girlfriend. And he becomes the laughing stock of the school. Mochida challenges Tsuna to a Kendo match over who has the right to Kyoko, and when Tsuna initially flees, he laughs. He reveals that, just in case Tsuna does take him on, he's rigged the match. Tsuna does return, however, and again in Dying Will mode. Mochida attempts a Kendo strike directly to the forehead, but Tsuna breaks the Kendo sword, headbutts him, and rips his hair out. Winning the match easily.
Kokuyo Arc
Mochida is only mentioned in the Kokuyo Arc as having been a recent victim of either Chikusa or Ken. When Reborn reveals the top ten(sans Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Hibari) Mochida is not mentioned. Meaning he isn't one of the 10 strongest in Namimori.
Future Arc
When Adult Yamamoto is briefing Gokudera and Tsuna on the current situation of the Vongola in the future, he, in the manga, tells them that he hasn't seen the Tomaso or him in the past two days. Implying that in the future, Mochida has become an associate or even a member of the Vongola.
